Namibia
The Republic of Namibia is situated in Southwest Africa on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and is considered the most stable and safest country on the red continent. In terms of territory, it is 8 times larger than Bulgaria and 10 times larger than Austria, but despite this, it is sparsely populated and has only 2.3 million inhabitants. The geography of Namibia includes mountains, savannahs, deserts and plains.
The climate in Namibia is very favorable. The country is blessed with 300 sunny days a year and low relative humidity. In the period from June to September, the temperature during the day is around 20º, but at night it can be quite cool. During the summer season from October to May, the thermometer shows around 35ºC.
About the farm
The farm is located 110 km from Windhoek International Airport in the best grazing and animal habitat area of Namibia. The farm itself consists of 5,000 ha, but our overall hunting area is around 100,000 ha, which offers our hunters a great variety of game and terrain (a total of 20 species of animals). Available to all guests and hunters are 2 apartments, 2 double rooms, and 4 bungalows with double beds, all with private bathrooms, toilets, and TV.
The farmhouse was completely renovated in 1995 but was originally owned by Count Faber Castell, for whom it was built in 1895.
The owners of the farm are licensed Professional Hunters from hereditary hunting families in Austria and provide our guests with adrenaline-filled hunting, quality trophies, and safaris to remember for a lifetime.
For our guests’ convenience, the farm has a bar, a dining room, an outdoor pool, and a jacuzzi. The beauty salon on the farm is managed by the owner herself. For the complete relaxation and entertainment of our guests, there is a Mini Golf that is ready to be used even at night along with a tennis table. Additionally, there is horse riding, skeet shooting, wildlife viewing, and short walks which can also be arranged.
Excursions by rental car, van, or plane can be arranged for your complete enjoyment apart from the hunt. The farm has its own track.
Private hunting reserve
In 1984 we settled in the Erongo Mountains, a region largely devoted to the raising of cattle, sheep, and goats. Even then, we noticed that it was one of the most attractive and wildlife-rich areas in Namibia. The dream was born to create an Active Nature Conservancy entirely funded by trophy hunting. However, many years had to pass before this dream finally came true.
The first milestone was passed in 2000, with the founding of the Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy (Hegering). Today, our native game species can pass more or less unhindered through the nature reserve, extending to over 200,000 hectares of land.
In order not to restrict game and destroy our own sense of freedom and spaciousness, we remove all cattle gates and fences in our hunting area. We are proud to have restored the habitat to its original, intact state and enjoy the “give and take” with nature in this unique region. Even endangered species such as the black rhinoceros and the black-faced impala were given a chance to regain their original habitat.
Discover the thrill of wildlife hunting at the most exclusive Safari Resort in the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. Here you can experience the peace and solitude of a fantastic, pure endless landscape full of biodiversity and excitement tailored to your desires. Our hunting area is located in the northern part of the 200,000-hectare Erongo Mountain Rhino Sanctuary Trust (EMRST) – one of the largest private nature reserves in South Africa.
The impressive mountain landscape, formed by ancient volcanic rocks, offers great scenic variation and favors thriving flora and fauna. The great variety of vegetation zones, from dry savannah around the transition zone to rugged mountain landscapes, creates habitat conditions for many animal species. All this in turn enables us to offer you a wide choice of safaris here in Namibia, such as guided plains game hunts and leopard hunts.
