Africa is huge and vast. It is the second largest continent in the world, and its area reaches about 22% of the planet’s territory. It is the cradle of human civilization and at the same time an incredible combination of different cultures. A unique mix of wildlife and natural resources. With its diversity, Africa can be defined as a land of contrasts.
Central East Africa is believed to be where humans originated. The earliest remains of Homo sapiens were found in Ethiopia. Their approximate age is estimated at 200,000 years.
There are 3,000 reserves in Africa, with 198 marine protected areas, 50 biosphere reserves, and 80 wetlands. There are 54 independent countries on the continent.
Africa’s long list of natural riches includes the longest river in the world, the Nile, Lake Victoria, which is the second largest freshwater lake in the world, and the largest and hottest desert in the world, the Sahara, whose area is greater than the entire continental United States.
Africa is a destination place whose magic can only be felt by visiting it.

Africa is home to four of the world’s fastest animals – cheetah, wildebeest, lion and Thomson’s gazelle. In addition, Africa is home to the largest land animal – the African elephant.
